When my sister and niece visited us for a weekend, we decided a drive to Krishnagiri dam. While driving back from Vellore a few years ago, we had chanced upon this amazing location near the dam backwaters. Away from the tourist spots and crowd, this location offers one of the best views of the backwaters. We decided to go there again.
We first stopped at Sri Kattu Veera Anjaneya temple located in the outskirts of Krishnagiri town.
We then continued our journey to the dam. If you drive past the dam, you will reach the village of Pachiganapalli, a right deviation here to reach the backwaters will take you to a small rock, on top of which a temple is being constructed.
We took a walk around the place and for sunset, climbed up the rock to watch the spectacular views. At a distance, several small hills were visible.
On our way back, we stopped at Shri Krishna Inn, near Shoolagiri. A must-do if you like south Indian dishes. Their Masala dosa and Pongal are delicious.
