The Moments

When I abandon my blog for a long time, it is not because I have nothing to record, but, I have lot of things going on and that is keeping me away from blogging. Which is a good news for my readers, if there are any. Anyways, I penned down a short story that had been running in my mind for quiet some time now. It is based on a true incident with of course some imagination from my side to find a conclusion to an unresolved issue. I took some quality time to do several edits and am extremely happy with the way it turned out. Couple of my friends read it and came back with mostly favourable reviews.

I was in Mangalore last weekend with my entire family, a reunion that had awaited 8 years. My second sister and her family came down from the US and my eldest sister and I traveled to our home. I had a great time meeting them and my three nieces and two nephews. We were there to attend the thread ceremony of my nephew.

My niece, Deeksha came along with me to Bangalore and spent a few days here. During our drive to Bangalore, we stopped at this ancient French cathedral near Hassan. During the rainy season, it is submerged in water.

Deeksha is a movie freak, so we had a great time watching some great movies like "Kapoor & Sons" and "Dil Dadhakne Do" and not so good movies like "Bajirao Mastani" and "Khoobsoorat". We visited our favourite Italian restaurant for dinner and that made up four eventful days.

But the most satisfying part of all was seeing my three French class students write their exams well and be content with their own performances. When they called me after their exams, to tell me how their papers were, that was one of the best moments of my life. I was reassured of the choice I want to make sometime in the future.
